Year 7 Students Embrace New Challenges at Jamie’s Farm
Twelve of our Year 7 students recently enjoyed an unforgettable residential experience at Jamie’s Farm in Wiltshire, spending a week away from their usual routines and embracing the opportunities and challenges of life on a working farm.
The residential provided students with a valuable opportunity to step outside their comfort zones, develop their independence and build confidence through a range of practical activities and shared experiences.
Throughout the week, students took part in a variety of farm activities, including caring for animals, preparing and cooking meals, chopping wood and helping with daily farm responsibilities. Each activity encouraged students to take on new challenges, work collaboratively and develop important life skills such as resilience, responsibility, communication and teamwork.
One of the highlights of the experience was the opportunity to spend time with the farm's much-loved animals. Chris the horse, Jeffery the goat, and Ella and Maggie the dogs quickly became firm favourites, helping to make the week even more memorable!
Beyond the practical activities, the residential gave students time away from screens and the distractions of everyday life, allowing them to connect with nature, strengthen friendships and discover new strengths and abilities.
It was wonderful to see our students grow in confidence throughout the week, encouraging one another, embracing unfamiliar experiences and demonstrating determination when faced with new challenges.
We are incredibly proud of all 12 students for their enthusiasm, positive attitudes and willingness to make the most of this fantastic opportunity.
A huge thank you to the wonderful team at Jamie’s Farm for providing such a rewarding experience, and to Mr Price, Miss Nelson and Miss Kasmani for accompanying and supporting our students throughout the residential.
We look forward to more exciting adventures and opportunities for our students in the future!
