Wear Red Day: Standing Together Against Racism

As part of our Black History Month celebrations, students and staff at Islip Manor High School came together to support Wear Red Day, showing their commitment to challenging racism and promoting equality, respect and inclusion.

Organised in support of Show Racism the Red Card, the day provided an important opportunity for our school community to stand united against racism and reflect on the role we all play in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Students and staff were encouraged to wear something red, whether as part of their uniform or through non-uniform clothing, as a visible symbol of solidarity and a shared commitment to tackling discrimination.

Wear Red Day was about much more than wearing a colour. It was a reminder of the importance of treating others with kindness, challenging prejudice and celebrating the diversity that makes our school community so special.

At Islip Manor High School, we believe that every student and member of staff deserves to feel valued, respected and included. Through our school values and everyday interactions, we continue to encourage our students to recognise the importance of equality, embrace differences and contribute positively to the wider community.

A huge thank you to all our students and staff who participated in Wear Red Day and helped demonstrate that, together, we can make a difference. ❤️
