MiSST Play Day: A Celebration of Music, Collaboration and Teamwork

Our Year 7 and 8 musicians recently enjoyed a fantastic day of music-making alongside students from Dormers Wells High School as part of the Music in Secondary Schools Trust (MiSST) Play Day.

The event brought young musicians together for an exciting opportunity to develop their musical skills, learn new pieces and experience the joy of performing as part of a larger orchestra.

Throughout the day, students participated in warm-ups, sectional rehearsals and full orchestral sessions, working together to master brand-new pieces of music. It was wonderful to see students embracing new challenges, listening carefully to one another and supporting their fellow musicians as they developed their confidence and musical abilities.

The experience was a fantastic demonstration of our school value of Collaboration, with students from both schools coming together through their shared enthusiasm for music. Despite having only a few hours to rehearse, their dedication, concentration and teamwork resulted in an impressive final performance for families.

The performance was a wonderful celebration of everything the students had achieved throughout the day and highlighted the importance of providing young people with opportunities to develop their creativity, confidence and teamwork beyond the classroom.

We are incredibly proud of our Year 7 and 8 musicians for their enthusiasm, commitment and positive attitude throughout the event.

A huge thank you to MiSST, Dormers Wells High School and all the families who joined us to support and celebrate our talented young musicians!
